About My Uber Spiffy Website

A couple of years back I went to my high school reunion ( yes I am THAT OLD, however I refuse to act as such) and I was lucky enough to reconnect with my good pal, Geoffrey Hawley. Now Geoffrey made it clear pretty quickly that he thought my website "sucked" and he graciously offered to create a new one for me. My previous site was this pathetic Front Page nonsense that just screamed "bored housewife" (although I was neither). I said, "Heck yeah!" and he went to work manifesting a site that just blew me away. Geoffrey works in flash and was doing something fairly unfamiliar to him. He had built sites before, but for mine he tried new things and made it a site I could manage myself as well... and I can despite being computer illiterate! Geoffrey also drew the little cartoon me, and I wish you all could have seen the huge grin on my face when I first saw it. Everything about my website makes me smile.
I will never be able to thank Geoffrey enough for all of the hard work and endless hours he spent on it. What it has done for my business, how it immediately portrays who I am and what I am all about, how easy it is to navigate through.... Geoffrey is an amazing, incredibly creative, generous, selfless person and I hope he knows how much he has helped further my company with this site. I hope he knows how much I appreciate all that he has done for me and will always be grateful.

You know that stuff I wrote about moving next summer?

The hot boyfriend of doom (tm) and I trekked up to Crater and Mirror lakes last week. We spent several fabulous days together in a very small tent we had to share with a Rufus (the wondermutt). I kinda wish we were still there, although I very much enjoy sleeping in a regular bed...with the Rufus underneath it instead of sprawled across our legs.
So that whole "hey let's wait until next summer to build on" plan got modified a bit. We're still building and it'll still take place then, but we've decided to completely test our sanity by moving in together now. This means six people and one bathroom. Oh yeah baby! I think I've mentioned two of this six are teen girls? A constant hot water heater has just bumped itself up to first place on the priority list.
I have been wandering around my house trying to think of what to move first, what I can get rid of, how we will manage to do this in less than a month and how thrilled Tasha is going to be now that there will be a cat under her roof. I am certain Oreo (the cat who at least makes an attempt to like people) will totally dig all of the attention she's about to receive.
We're hoping to be done before school starts (August 19th) and I'm a bit nervous. I've got a lot of cakes to create this coming month and there's one in particular that's going to take some serious engineering and a couple of trips to the hardware store. I work well under pressure, though.... always have. Which is why I'm sitting here blogging instead of packing or baking:)
I'm rather giddy... nervous, but giddy. I keep thinking I should pinch myself. Is this really happening? I have a feeling this boyfriend of mine will continue to surprise and thrill me for many, many years to come. He's just that kind of guy... which as I've stated before, makes me one very lucky gal!

New stuff!

I thought I'd share a bit of what I've been up to lately. It's been busy! These are now on my "favs" list. I really love the chocolate circles! The groom's cake was a blast to make.... even has edible coins to represent the change that falls out of his pockets whenever he sits down:) Cute!!!!

More camping please!

I'm kinda digging taking cakes up into the mountains now... I can get a little camping trip out of the deal as well now that I have someone fun to go with:)
Last weekend we were in Snowmass delivering a cake to a lovely wedding organized by the ever wonderful TC (Muse Events). After work came play, and an overnight excursion to the Maroon Bells area seemed a must. Now I get what all of the hype is about. Gorgeous!!!

Ronin Is NINE!

Ronin (Ames' younger spawn) turned nine recently. I made him a themed cake after he informed me that "he totally trusted me to do a good job on his cake".:) He's a big Ben 10 fan... and I had no idea what in the heck Ben 10 was, so I subjected myself to youtube videos to learn more about one particular character Ben 10 changes into. Cannonbolt was made of fondant and then handpainted. The boys devoured him after the essential wish over the candles. All of them looked fab with black lips from the coloring!
